Business Intelligence Consultant

Work with customers to understand business processes, gather and document project requirements through requirement analysis and System design and analysis, and translate them into detailed specifications for BI reports and applications; develop data models for Data Warehouses/Marts using dimensional design techniques, snowflake, and star schema designs, identify data quality issues and support data governance initiatives by participating in necessary activities including data profiling.

Work location is Troy, MI and various unanticipated client locations in US which may require relocation.

Tableau Consultant

As part of our expanding consulting practice in Michigan and the greater Midwest USA, WIT is actively looking for experienced Tableau Consultants. Experience/skills desired include:

  • A minimum of two years of contiguous work experience in Tableau Desktop and Server
  • Subject matter expert on Tableau development and knowledge of Tableau development best practices
  • Working knowledge of the Tableau Server architecture
  • Ability to interact with business users and gather/extract their requirements
  • Ability to convert user requirements to determine the most appropriate Tableau visualizations
  •  Experience in Tableau development in an agile format
  •  Experience as the technical lead on one or more Tableau development engagements
  •  Ability to propose solutions to improve the data architecture to align with Tableau development requirements
  •  Experience mentoring team members on Tableau design and development practices
  •  Expert-level SQL knowledge
  •  Working knowledge of data warehouse modeling techniques

QlikView Consultant

WIT is seeking experienced business intelligence professionals with QlikView experience to join our team.  We are looking for a mix of QlikView development skills and core business intelligence experience. 

Specific skills requirements include:

  • QlikView application development
  • QlikView Server/Publisher software administration (installs, version upgrades, security, etc.)
  • Solid requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and debugging skills

Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience in other business intelligence tools (e.g. Business Objects, Cognos) is desired
  • Prior internal/external project consulting experience is a plus
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills are required

Sr. Qlikview Business Intelligence Consultant

Design and development of business intelligence solutions for clients using Qlikview as the main software and following the current best practice and standards to guarantee a high quality final solution that is also flexible and scalable.

Detailed Job Description:

  • Participate and improve the development of functional design specs for development of programs.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures and areas of assistance in the field.
  • Review the existing programs for upgrades or replacements and evaluate user request for new or modified programs.
  • Formulate plan outlining steps to develop program, using structured analysis design.
  • Submit plans to user for approval and review changing technology to keep the company's system abreast.
  • Perform technical screenings to QlikView positions related candidates and give a detailed feedback to the Sr. Lead of Talent Acquisition.
  • Install and configure QlikView Server and Publisher in different types of environments including cluster, distributed services and single machine.
  • Trace and correct faults related to QlikView Server and QlikView Publisher installation and configuration
  • Propose new design or changes for User Interface to the client, following the best practices in order to guarantee the correct utilization of the programs.
  • Run performance and quality tests to all development program and apply optimization techniques and best practices.
  • Analysis of data sources structure and relationships in order to create a flexible data model that is also easy to scale.
  • Design, development and implementation of QlikView applications
  • Testing and research of new technologies.
  • Develop data models for data warehouses/Marts using dimensional design techniques, snowflake, and start schema
  • Data Blending, enrichment and manipulation, Generating KPIs.

Microsoft BI Principal Consultant

WIT is looking to hire a Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Principal Consultant. This role will be responsible for end-to-end design and development of Microsoft BI solutions for our customers. This individual will work with end users to gather/extract requirements and develop BI solutions using Microsoft tools (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Excel, PowerPivot, SharePoint) and underlying technologies. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes Microsoft technology and have ability to lead junior developers and assist in pre-sales as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with customers to understand business processes, gather and document project requirements, and translate them into detailed specifications for BI reports and applications
  • Develop data models for Data Warehouses/Marts using dimensional design techniques, snowflake, star schema designs
  • Develop parameterized reports through Reporting Services (SSRS) from a variety of data sources and prepare for Web deployment
  • Utilize Integration Services (SSIS) to develop ETL jobs move and transform data from source systems to a data warehouse
  • Utilize Analysis Services (SSAS) to design multi-dimensional models while adhering to enforced development methodologies
  • Performance tune SSIS jobs and SSAS Cubes as required
  • Create and maintain advanced Power Pivot solutions, and integrate with SharePoint Business Intelligence features and functions
  • Identify project risks and impediments, notify management, and proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, create test plans, and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary
  • Identify data quality issues and support data governance initiatives by participating in necessary activities including data profiling
  • Assist in configuration and upgrades of BI software
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science (equivalent professional experience considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT industry with at least 2 years of hands-on continuous work experience in developing Business Intelligence solutions
  • Highly Proficient with T-SQL and MDX
  • Recent programming experience with C#/VB.NET, ASP.Net, JavaScript, and XML is preferred.
  • Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples).
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
  • Ability and past experience producing technical documentation
  • Good written / oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment.

Business Intelligence Analyst (Entry-Level)

WIT has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Business Intelligence Analyst.  This position is a blend of internal project work and consulting engagements for our key clients.  The position is located in the metro Detroit area.

We're growing, and seeking technically-minded, high caliber individuals to help us serve our clients.  We're targeting recent college graduates, as well as Summer 2013 graduates.

We'll provide in-depth technical training on the business intelligence software products we support, and we're looking for quick learners who are highly motivated to succeed.

Data Warehouse Architect

WIT has an immediate opening for the position of Data Warehouse Architect to be located in the metro Detroit area. You will be leading consulting opportunities for Business Objects / Microsoft Business Intelligence implementations involving Requirements Analysis, Solution Architecture, and Deployment of business intelligence projects including dashboards and analytics. Some travel is required, but most projects would be local.

The Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for the overall technical infrastructure and leads the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions. The Data Warehouse Architect responsibilities include developing Logical and Physical data models for a data warehouse or a data mart. The Data Warehouse Architect performs reviews, analysis, selection, design, development, support and tuning of large, complex integrated systems.

 Qualified Candidate Profile:

  • BA/BS Degree (Graduate degree will be preferred) with minimum 3 years experience developing applications in a Data Warehouse environment.
  • Experience using ETL tools such as Data Stage or Data Integrator or MS Integration services (SSIS) and Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects and/or Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Expert in dimensional modeling and relational data modeling methodologies.
  • Expert in understanding of application architecture strategies.
  • Expert understanding of deployment strategies for distributed and multi-tiered applications.
  • Expertise in project software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and capability to lead a team of developers.

Data Scientist

WIT has an immediate opening for an experienced Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist you will help to drive and focus on Business Intelligence strategy in line with overall corporate objectives and provides primary analysis to all business units globally for corporate-wide data initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Apply statistical techniques to assess the health of the business by modeling data using descriptive and predictive analytics
  • Educate business users on analytical capabilities and limitations
  • Interact with business users to understand business needs/requirements for individual projects Work closely with BI Technical team to translate business requirements
  • Partner with strategic technology group on the exploration and potential implementation of new BI concepts/tools Perform analyses and develop interactive guided analytical dashboards

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. or higher in Data Science, Math, Statistics and/or Computer Science
  • 4+ years of Analytics experience preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with data discovery / analytical tools, and / or a major BI platform 
  • Experience with predictive analytics and dashboard development strongly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong knowledge of BI concepts and processes (e.g. ETL, data aggregation, query and analyses)

Project Manager

Partner with Web development team and clients on multiple project opportunities, including resource planning and scheduling, project planning, requirements gathering, technical writing, functional specifications, and application of formal or client specific methodologies using a wide variety of tools, most importantly Qlikview , SQL Server & JIRA (25% of time); Identify and document project opportunities and coordinate problem resolution activities (10% of time); Perform business analysis and compile functional requirements for software implementation projects (20% of time); Manage multiple resources and priorities across projects (15% 0f time); Oversees and reviews design and coding activities to ensure consistency and quality (15% of time); Keeps meaningful metrics and leverages that data to drive efficiencies within the team owns and drives process innovations to drive efficiencies and productivity (15% of time).
